![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I have been exceptionally pleased with the shots I have taken with the Contax RX and recommend it without reservation. The camera has average and spot metering and about the best flash control in the Contax line especially when the camera is teamed with the Contax TLA360 flash which I also have. ![]() One excellent addition is the electronic DOF indicator which allows the photographer to know whether his subject is within the DOF of his lens without having to take his eyes off the viewfinder. In that mode, focussing manually and then confirming, the system works quite briskly. When I first got the camera I had the tendency to look at the DFI in the viewfinder rather than the focus screen but then I realized that it worked better if I used the DFI as a focus confirmation. The Digital Focus Indicator is like having the brains of an autofocus camera but without the motors to turn the lens. The Contax RTS III is a one of a kind camera, probably the most advanced non auto-focus 35mm SLR ever made. If you use big apertures, just be sure to take your time when focussing, as depth of field might be really shallow. The RTS III probably did have the most comprehensive specification overall, but some other models had unique features. The body is exceptionally well balanced even with the longest of my Zeiss lenses and I have had no trouble handholding it with a telephoto. The RTS III has access to zeiss lenses, which are very sharp. The RX is my favourite Contax body and one that displays all of the quality you have come to expect from the Contax marque. ![]()
